COUNCILLOR Maureen Bateson, chairman of the Blackburn constituency Labour Party, was quoted as saying "The right to vote is a basic right and one that the Labour Party will always hold at the centre of everything it does" (LET, June 9).
Does this include when people vote BNP? The contempt of the Labour group on Blackburn Council for BNP voters is scandalous.
As Mrs Gladys Robinson remarks (Letters, June 10) until this situation is sorted out and the people of this country are treated like first-class citizens, then the BNP will keep gaining seats.
