A SUPERB bowling performance from Manoj Parekh helped Preston secure a convincing victory at Fleetwood on Saturday.
The pace bowler took six wickets for 53 runs to help restrict the home side to 178.
A knock of 54 by professional Rauf Ahkbar was the highlight of Preston's innings as they reached their target with four wickets to spare.
The 12 point victory left Preston in fifth place in the league just five points behind pace setters Chorley who are their opponents at Windsor Park on Saturday.
Leyland enjoyed their second victory of the season when they skittled out Blackpool for just 127 after setting a target of 154. The win lifted them off the bottom of the table, one point clear of their opponents.
In a tight game at Sandy Lane Leyland Motors were beaten by two wickets after scoring a challenging total of 220 with Ashraf top scoring with 158 not out. Motors now lie one place above Leyland.
Leyland are at home to Lancaster on Saturday while Motors host Fleetwood.
It's Thwaites' Cup day on Sunday with Preston visiting Lancaster while Leyland are at home to Morecambe and Motors host Fleetwood for the second time in two days.
