A BUILDER has thanked emergency crews who rescued him from scaffolding in a dramatic hour-long operation at an isolated Ribble Valley farm .
Nine Clitheroe firefighters and two paramedics rescued 18-year-old Michael Price after he became stuck at the top of scaffolding following a leg injury.
They were called after he became trapped in agony 20 feet in the air at Clough Bottom Farm, Bashall Eaves.
And today the young builder, of Peel Street, Clitheroe, said: "Thanks lads!"
He suffered a leg seizure while working on a barn conversion at the isolated farm at 4.30pm on Wednesday.
Clitheroe Fire Station officer Dave McGrath said: "His leg had locked up and he was in a lot of pain. We secured him to a long board, but it was a delicate operation and it took us an hour to get him down.
"This was an unusual job, but we were very pleased with the way it went. The speed and efficiency of the team was excellent."
Michael was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary and released after treatment.
And today he said he was grateful to the emergency services for their work.
"I was stuck at the top of scaffolding and there was nothing I could do. They did a great job and I would like to thank them."
