PLACES are still available for an annual cardiac screening service tomorrow.
The aim is to detect heart abnormalities that endanger the lives of young people.
CRY, Cardiac Risk in the Young, will offer ECGs to people aged between 14 and 35 at the Darwen Access Point on Duckworth Street.
The day-long event is in memory of Neil Wickers and David Staff, from Darwen and Hoddlesden, who died as a result of undiagnosed heart defects.
The victims' memorial fund recently received £500 from the Mayor's Charity Fund. Family fund-raising has allowed the charity to carry out nationwide screening events since 1995.
Pre-booked appointments are required for the day. To book, contact Irene Wickers on 01254 707895.
