WHAT is happening to Chorley police force? One of the largest police stations in the area but no cells.
The chief superintendent says it is not cost effective to have cells in Chorley. But Chorley, being one of the most highly populated areas, seems to mean nothing, better waste time and council tax payers' money going on trips to Leyland and Skelmersdale instead of putting the offenders in cells at Chorley.
The area chief superintendent says it would cost £330,000 to keep the cells open in Chorley, but surely it costs more to keep transporting offenders to Leyland/Skelmersdale, plus taking officers off the streets of Chorley.
I hope the people of Chorley give our local MP Lindsay Hoyle as much support as possible in trying to open our police cells once again, and a bit of support from LCC would not do our cause any harm.
We need the support of Chorley people. So please help. Maybe a petition signed by Chorley people to see if they want the cells re-opened or not. Let's fight for what we deserve and pay for.
