I WANT to express my outrage at the EU Food Supplement Directive. I am so appalled at this attempt to deny me the right to be healthy that I attended the march that took place in London on June 15.
Food supplements are already required to be safe under the 1990 Food Safety Act. This directive denies me the right to use safe, effective products that I have used for years.
If this government were really interested in the health of its people, it would be banning alcopops, reducing the potency of alcohol, restricting the outlets available and also be doing the same with cigarettes.
I am responsible for my health and I want the same freedom that smokers and drinkers have to choose how I do it.
My choice is natural medicine and I want the government to keep its hands off! I also want to know why it is supporting a directive that denies me this choice?
