OFFICERS from Pennine Division's road policing unit will in Colne Market Hall and Nelson shopping centre next week in a bid to drive home the message about road safety.
The officers, joined by representatives from other agencies with an interest in safety, will be in Colne from 10am-4pm on Thursday, June 26 and Nelson from 10am-4pm on Friday, June 27.
They will advise people on a range of road safety issues like speed, the wearing of seat belts and drink driving, as well as showing safety videos and providing leaflets for visitors to take away.
Sgt Russ Gregory said: "We are hoping to attract as many people as possible to the event so that we can offer them our expertise and advice and in doing so, perhaps help to reduce the likelihood of them becoming in involved in accidents at a later date."
