A MOTHER and daughter duo are trying to re-unite hundreds of former pupils from a Blackburn primary school, now spread across the world.
Lesley Dulling, of Quebec Road, Lammack, left Park Road primary school in Audley in 1967, the year it closed. Her mother, May Nuttall, now 70, left the school in 1944.
Now the pair have launched a worldwide hunt to reunite former pupils and have already found dozens - some in Australia.
Their campaign has already put former Blackburn residents who moved south back in touch and a meeting of ex-pupils will be held in London next month.
A reunion party is planned for September 27 at the Bulls Head in Wilpshire, and is being advertised in community centres, pubs and shops around East Lancashire, as well as nationally and internationally in magazines and on websites.
Lesley and May have tracked the history of the school back to 1894, but are aiming the reunion specifically at those who left between 1925 and 1967.
Lesley said: "This started really after I got back in touch with a few people on the Friends Reunited website and it's all grown from there.
"Whole families are getting in touch with us because some people knew my mum and some know me, which is really nice and hopefully it will help us get in touch with people of different ages. It will be great to reunite people from all over the world.
"Hopefully the big event will be a success but there's a lot of work to do first."
