THERE is again talk of entry into the euro, yet, as far as the Green party is concerned, it is one more step along the path of globalisation.
Globalisation is giving fewer and fewer people control of our food, services, health, and media etc, so that, for instance, locally-grown food for sale in local shops is getting harder to find.
Services which used to be provided by local councils and on which we could have our say through councillors are slowly being given to private companies.
So while the euro might seem to be a good idea, with less hassle say for those holidaying abroad, in reality it hands our finances over to a small group over which we have no control.
The five qualifying questions being asked by the Chancellor fail to ask, does it benefit us socially or environmentally? -- to which the answer is: No.
