DURING the trial of an Iraqi asylum seeker accused of the murder of a fellow countryman in Blackburn, defending counsel Jack Price branded the Infirmary area of the town as "notorious" (LET, June 13).
In doing so, he calls into question the character of the good people who have lived in this area for many years.
As for the asylum seekers who live in our area, they cause no trouble as they tend to keep to themselves.
BRIAN J BOOTH, vice-chairman, Ivy Street Community Centre, Infirmary area, Blackburn.
