CALLING all gardeners! Bury Council wants to have a look at your handiwork.
It has launched its seventh Bury in Bloom competition to showcase the gardening talents of the borough's residents.
Everyone is encouraged to get involved from community gardens and parks through to household gardens. The competition is free of charge and is open to all ages and abilities. Prizes and certificates will be awarded in the categories of:
Household front garden
Household back garden
Backyard, balcony, small patio garden
Small retail premises, shop front
Large trade, industrial, commercial premises, public houses
School environment projects
Community garden projects
The Mayor's Environmental Prize will also be up for grabs for anyone or any group cleaning up and securing the ongoing maintenance of derelict areas or the local environment.
The popular contest this year is sponsored by Summerseat Garden Centre and is designed to encourage the improvement of floral displays and the environment.
