NINE people were due to appear in court today facing charges relating to the supply and possession of drugs.
The charges follow a series of dawn raids in the Church and Central areas of Accrington yesterday.
More than 80 officers from the support unit, CID, and dog patrols, targeted 13 addresses in the area at 7.45am as part of Operation Nimrod. They were accompanied by Hyndburn Council's portfolio holder for community safety, Coun Janet Storey and residents from the area.
Ten people were arrested, with nine due to appear before Blackburn Magistrates today.
They are: John Gordon, 40, of China Street, Accrington; Simon Swan, 35, of St Peter Street, Blackburn; Shaun Fearn, 51, of Henry Street, Church; Jonathon Mallen, 27, of Birtwistle Street, Accrington; Morgan Parkinson, 19, of Shuttle Close, Accrington; Bridget Roberts, of Birtwistle Street, Accrington; Nazakat Alit, 26, of Shuttle Close, Accrington; Leanne Dundon, 39, of Delamere Place, Chorley; and Kieran Coughlin, 18, of Parker Street, Chorley. A similar raid in the Woodnook area of Accrington a month ago resulted in nine people being charged.
A 16-year-old boy arrested during the earlier raids was also due in court at Hyndburn today charged with supplying heroin, possessing crack cocaine, and assaulting a police officer.
