HUNDREDS of shoppers brought a part of Blackburn town centre to a standstill as they marvelled at the might of more than 20 arm wrestlers.
The High Noon Arm Wrestling show set up a stall in King William Street, near to Marks and Spencers, and attracted a huge crowd to the pedestrianised area.
Fans and those new to the sport were wowed by the razzmatazz of the show and the professionalism of the sportsmen competing - many of whom had won international competitions.
James Davis, 17, of Whalley New Road, Blackburn, said: "I haven't really seen anything like this before, I was wondering what all the fuss was about so I decided to watch.
"They seem to take it really seriously, with the PA announcer and the cheerleaders. The wrestlers look like they put in a lot of training, I didn't realise it was such a big sport."
