ON June 3, I was involved in a serious accident at the junction of Lord Street and Rochdale Road, Bury, and I would like to thank everyone who came to my aid, particularly Mr Mick Conlon and his wife, Sarah, and numerous other people whose names I do not know.
Thanks to the fire officers, the ambulance service and Fairfield Hospital where I was treated with the utmost speed and courtesy by the nurses, doctors and ancillary staff working that evening. All these people are unsung heroes who acted well beyond their call of duty. Their prompt action ensured that my injuries were not more serious.
