IN one of the popular women's magazines, I was incensed to read a letter from Ms T. Braiden of Radcliffe regarding pensioners who dawdle in shopping centres. What sheer arrogance!
Does Ms Braiden never have to struggle past parents who stand talking in the aisles whilst their unruly, noisy kids are charging about all over the place? But that is acceptable because they are not old.
I, too, was a working mum for most of my life, but I didn't have the convenience of supermarkets, open until late at night. In my day, all the shops closed at 5.30pm which is the time I finished work. Neither did I have a car.
So, you working mums, stop bleating about pensioners, you will be one yourself one day, and start appreciating how much better life is for you.
And to all you pensioners I say: get down to the supermarket and shopping centre and dawdle to your heart's content.
