A FAMILY whose move to Wales was wrecked by thieves who stole a removal van containing everything they owned have managed to recover some of their belongings, including precious photographs.
The thieves who stole the white Mercedes van from outside the Walker family home in Lilac Road, Little Harwood, dumped several boxes at an industrial estate in Kendal, Cumbria.
Dad Stephen, who was preparing to move to near Tenby with wife Debbie and five children when the thieves struck, travelled to Kendal yesterday to pick up what was left.
He said: "We've got quite a bit of stuff back but a lot of it has been vandalised.
"We've managed to salvage a lot of clothes, kitchen things and children's toys but nearly all of our photographs, too, which is the best thing."
Stephen is driving down to join his family in Wales tomorrow.
