THIS is the one that didn't get away! The colossal 190lb halibut, freshly caught off the Danish coast, startled shoppers in Clitheroe.
Fishmonger Giles Shaw at Wellgate Fisheries hung up the mighty fish after being inspired by an old photograph of a similarly huge halibut hung outside the shop in 1967.
And three-year-old Phoebe Shaw (pictured) wanted a close-up look at the specimen.
The fish, 5ft long and 2ft wide took four shop workers to lift.
Giles said: "It's an absolute monster. Not many people will have seen a fish this size."
Giles said it was not usual for fishmongers to buy such big fish these days due to high turnover of stock.
