SPEED merchants Rachel Preston, Aaron Sincoe and Hayley Newman were the fastest kids on the block at the annual Burnley Primary Schools Track Championships.
The Rosewood flyers all enjoyed that winning feeling as the school scooped three of the eight individual races at Barden running track.
Preston came home first in the 75m final with Newman winning the 100m race. Sincoe then completed a treble for the school by racing to glory in the 800m.
A total of nine schools took part in the championship -- which was split in to two heats over the day -- with young runners competing in the 75m, 100m, 200m and 800m individual races and the relay events.
While Rosewood's Rachel Preston won the girls 75m final, the winning boy over the same distance was Whittlefield's Lewis Pollock.
Simon Stuttard of Cliviger Junior School was the boys winning of the 100m race while Francesca Barrett of St Mary Magdalene's and Remi Dust of Heasandford left their rivals trailing in the 200m final.
Brunshaw Junior School won two events, with Justine Lorriman pulling away to win the 800m while the school also triumphed in the 4x100m relay race.
Brunshaw's winning sprint team included Kirsty Birks, Grace Parnell, Francis Winder and Laura Perry. James Walmsley, Thomas Davidson, Louis Percival and Alex Pilkington then combined their sprinting skills to guide St Mary Magdalene's to glory in the boys race.
The full list of schools that took part in the second heat were Rosewood, Cliviger, Ighten Hill, St Leonards, St Mary Magdalene's, Whittlefield and Worsthorne.
The first heat saw teams from Holy Trinity, Christ The King, Padiham Primary, Padiham Green, Wellfield, Cherry Fold, Barden and Springfield all taking part.
As Rosewood enjoyed treble success in the second heat of the day, so did Holy Trinity in the first.
The Raglan Road school did the double in the 200m finals with Michael Catlow and Chloe Ingham proving to be just too quick for the rest.
The school's third winner was Maisie Bonney who won the 800m final. And Holy Trinity rounded off a successful day by finishing as runner-up in the boys 4x100m final. The team included Oliver Lord, Jack Johnson, Sam Atkin and Warren Robinson.
John Cruickshanks showed he was the quickest over 100m when the Padiham Primary School pupil raced to success in the sprint final -- as did Wellfield's Hayley Hodgkinson in the girl's race.
And Christ the King proved to be the king's of the relay race as they won both the boys and girls 8x100m races.
The boys winning team included Shaun Rigg, Patrick Martin, Robert Allan, Daniel Foley, Daniel Boyle, Martin Connelly, Lloyd Chapman and Hayden Baxendale. Christ the King's winning girls team included Laura Gavin, Rebecca Fallows, Rachael Hephrun, Bethan Bradshaw, Lauren McLoughlin, Sally Conlan, Penny Barker and Grace Rowan. However, the Calderbrook Avenue school were pushed all the way by a very determined Padiham Green team who had to settle for second place.
Padiham Green's sprint team included Holly Stevenson, Katy Barsby, Hayley Barsby, Mayah Bennett, Hope Bennett, Rebecca Smith, Heather Denson and Danielle Chadwick.
Other schools to enjoy relay race glory were Padiham Primary School who won the girls 4x100m final. Paige Lambert, Sophie Entwistle, Claire Parnell and Joanne Taylor made up the winning foursome.
And although Cherry Fold did not taste that winning feeling on the day, young Kenny Ainsworth got the second best thing when he was runner up in the boys 800m final.
Every winner and runner-up received a certificate for their efforts.
