SO there is nothing wrong with the EU -- it is just Eurosceptics peddling myths, says Gary Arthur (Letters, June 12). Well let's look at the facts:
The EU's accounts have not been approved by the auditors for years. (Fraud runs at £500million a year).
The EU has had control of our fishing for decades. Fish stocks are at an all-time low and the British fishing industry has been decimated.
EU Regulations insist that cucumbers must be straight not curved, and it is a criminal offence to sell bananas by the pound.
Euro-joiners Germany (four million unemployed) and Netherlands are in recession, and France is stagnating, while the UK is prospering free of the euro.
The EU has its passport, flag, anthem, driving licence, police force, arrest warrant, parliament, president, commission, army (sorry, rapid reaction force).
If that is not a growing super state, I don't know what is.
