MICK Leck strode home to seize the Lancaster and Morecambe Athletic Club Fell Runners' Cup in the Clough Pike Challenge last Wednesday.
Mick came second in the race in 54 mins 10 secs, narrowly beaten by visitor Richard Lamb in a time of 51.33.
He took the over 40s prize but did not qualify for the club's annual championship - gratefully accepted by Mick.
Mike Peat in 59.19 and Andy Holden 61.22 took the second and third places respectively in the club cup. And the winner of the Sheep Shield for the first over 50 was John Oldroyd in 56.00.
The first female over the line was Jo Taylor, who took the women's shield in a time of 66.12.
The winners were presented with their prizes by Club President Reg Baker in a convivial evening at Quernmore village hall.
