A PLANT pot recycling system has been introduced at Bents Garden Centre to reduce waste and help the environment.

Customers can return all plastic containers to Glazebury centre's customer services area, and those with a Bents' logo will be entitled to a 50p discount off the price of their next hardy plant purchase.

Centre Owner Rob Bent said: "We are in an industry where we help people to improve their own environment by cultivating gardens as well as encouraging wildlife, but plastic pots, although essential for our plants, are an unfortunate by-product of gardening."

"We want to help by reusing as many of our plant pots as possible."
