A TWO day competition for the Tom Morris Putter produced some sparkling golf in ideal conditions at Clitheroe Golf Club.
The council policy of allowing suitably qualified juniors to play in senior competitions paid dividends on both days.
Young Andrew Heesom led the field on Saturday with a net 68 and James Jackson produced a confident 68 on Sunday.
However, the experienced Geoff Cartledge showed consistency with rounds of 70 and 67 to take the main prize.
Former South African resident Archie Moro had the outstanding round of the weekend with a net 66 to take the Division One prize from James Jackson and Oliver Drinkwater.
Nigel Schofield figured prominently with two solid rounds to pick up a prize on both days. Ken O'Brien came so close to top spot on Saturday but Cartledge beat him on a card play-off.
Dennis Greenup took second prize in Division One on Saturday and won the gross prize on Sunday to confirm what a consistent golfer he is off his two handicap.
Gary Speak took Sunday's gross prize before jetting off to America to caddy for his star sister Kirsty Taylor , who has qualified for the LPGA Open Championship to be held at Pumpkin Ridge GC, Portland, Oregon from July 3-6.
