ALTHOUGH your report (LET, June 12) about the refurbishment of Blackburn town centre was generally good, there was some misunderstanding regarding Blackburn Market.
Firstly, Blackburn Market is two markets. The three-day, which is only open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, can be referred to as the covered market. The six-day, open daily except Sunday, is the Market Hall on Market Avenue.
As to the plans of moving the Market, there is nothing on the table and if any plans materialise then they would only involve the three-day market, which is the covered market and should not be construed to be Blackburn Market in general.
There are no plans to move the six-day Market from the Market Hall and Market Avenue.
