A PLAN to convert a former Royal British Legion Club into a place of worship looks set to be rejected.
Pendle Council planning officers are recommending refusal of an application to transform the former Royal British Legion Club in Brunswick Street, Nelson.
The application, submitted by Mr M Anwar, would see the building, which has been closed for almost a year, used for religious tuition and worship.
During a consultation the council received two letters and a petition signed by 26 residents opposing the idea.
Planning officers say the scheme does not not incorporate adequate parking facilities.
The Nelson Committee will discuss the application on Monday.
