PRESTON Arts Association have revealed plans of this year's arts festival.

Running for two weeks in October, the programme features an art exhibition, drama and singing, and plenty of workshops. Most events are being held at the Preston Minster at Church Street.

THOUSANDS of visitors are expected at this year's Royal Lancashire Show.

The event is now being held at Salesbury Hall Farm, Ribchester, from Tuesday to Thursday, July 29 to 31.

Events include a parachute display, and a Shetland Pony grand national.

A PRIZE winning pianist is playing at this year's Ribble Valley piano week.

Jin Ju, who came third in the world famous Tchaikowsky Piano Competition in Moscow in 2002, will be giving a recital during the week, which runs from July 13 to 19.
