A BURNLEY businessman is recovering after being kidnapped and assaulted.
Alec Cunningham, who runs a secondhand shop in Plumbe Street, was the victim of a serious assault last week.
He was taken to Burnley General Hospital after being found by police. A police spokesman said: "There was an incident where a man was allegedly kidnapped on Tuesday June 17.
"We ran an operation throughout that night and he was successfully found and released.
"He went to hospital and subsequently released himself after treatment and we are still investigating."
The extent of his injuries are not known, but the spokesman revealed they include broken limbs.
