AN application to redevelop the former Michelin factory site in Burnley has been sent to the council.
The North West Development Agency bought the site in April 2002 after it was shut down by Michelin with the loss of 452 jobs.
The North West Development Agency is responsible for the economic development and regeneration of the North West.
It wants to refurbish the existing factory buildings in Widow Hill Road, dividing them into smaller units.
New industrial units, a creche and cafe would also be built on site if the plans are passed.
When Michelin announced it was closing the factory in October 2001 the town's MP Peter Pike described it as a "hammer blow."
