DARWEN children were today rewarded for learning more about road safety.
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council's Kerbcraft Road Safety Initiative involved primary school children from St Barnabas, St Paul and St James' primary schools.
The council's road safety team issued certificates to the youngsters, as well as pupils from Blackburn College and St Mary's College, for taking part in the scheme.
Students were taught the importance of taking care while crossing the road and were also able to demonstrate the use of high visibility jackets whilst walking near a road.
Councillor Andy Kay, executive member for regeneration, said: "It is a fantastic initiative that has seen students and pupils working in partnership to highlight road safety issues and reinforce the safety messages children across the borough are getting at school."
