I WRITE in response to recent letters from parents of children due to start school in September (Bury Times, June 13). I feel the way the education authority has dealt with these cases is appalling.
After having three of my own children go through high school, I know what a terrifying experience it can be for them, yet having to face the thought that they might have to travel to an unknown school, with complete strangers, sickens me. I feel the LEA are toying with the futures of these children and it should stop.
At the age of 11 and 12 children need the security and familiarity of their friends around them. I wish the parents the best of luck with their appeals.
