AFTER reading letters in the Bury Times about children having to face the fact that they may have to leave all their friends behind, and travel to another school as their appeal has been refused, I felt I should write and express my concern for these children.
I myself endured years of bullying due to the fact I had to move away from all my friends to start a new school in a different town, because of the demand on my father's job.
I wouldn't wish this experience on even my worst enemy, as I found it very hard to fit in when everyone already had their own selection of friends. Well let's be honest, no one wants an outcast in their group. As a result of this, no-one gave me a chance and I suffered torment from not only the girls but also some of the boys in my year as well.
I am now a teacher myself and bullying is something we do not tolerate in our school. However, we are still aware that it goes on and I feel that children who are unnecessarily put in this position would be open to bullying.
