BISHOP of Burnley John Goddard joined members of a fair trade pressure group at the end of two days of action encouraging support for changes in international trading rules.

The Trade Justice Movement (TJM), a coalition of over 40 different organisations, organised two days of action on Friday and Saturday.

Thousands of activists took part in rallies across the country bringing pressure to bear on MPs to support the cause.

TJM says international trading rules are rigged in favour of rich countries and lead to poverty and suffering in poorer countries.

A gathering at Sion Baptist Church, Church Street, Burnley, marked the end of the lobbying.
