PASAN WANANSINGHE returns to his old stamping ground on Saturday as Radcliffe take on Unsworth in the Central Lancashire League, writes STEVE BOTT.
The Sri Lankan ace jumped ship from Pole Lane to link up with the Unsworth Street club in time for the start of this season and, so far, has impressed his new bosses with some solid performances.
All-rounder Wanansinghe scored 16, 20 and 29 as Radcliffe fell 20 runs short at Walsden on Saturday, hammered Norden in an impressive nine-wicket win at Unsworth Street on Sunday and ducked out of the Inter League Trophy chase after an agonising second round two-run defeat at home against Heywood on Bank Holiday Monday.
Radcliffe haven't been quite as demanding as Unsworth were on Wanansinghe in terms of the number of overs he is having to bowl.
It was not unusual for Pasan to bowl half Unsworth's allotted overs in every match, but so far he is bowling between ten and 15 overs per match and took a couple of wickets in the games against Walsden and Norden with his medium to fast deliveries.
Radcliffe take on Norden again on Sunday, making the trip to Woodhouse Lane for a Wood Cup first round clash.
