TIME ran out on Radcliffe Cricket Club's first team in their Central Lancashire League game at Milnrow.

The Racecoursemen presented Milnrow with two unlikely points as the visitors failed by one to bowl their 50 overs before the match time limit was reached.

Radcliffe could have managed to get the missing over in had they used a bowler off a shorter run-up some time during the Milnrow innings, but they banked on professional Pasan Wanansinghe and Eddie Shah skittling Milnrow out without needing the full quota of overs.

Radcliffe made Milnrow look second best for much of the match. Wanansinghe blasted a super century to steer Radcliffe to a total of 204-8.

Milnrow pro Shadab Kabir scored 92 before he was run out by a direct hit from the arm of Radcliffe skipper Graeme Simpson.

Kabir had received little support though and Milnrow's innings finished on 143-9.

On Sunday in their Wood Cup quarter-final at Heywood the Racecourse side were set a target of 204 after the hosts Glancy hit an unbeaten 78 and professional Botha contributed another 52.

Nick Kennedy was the pick of the Radcliffe bowlers with three wickets for 34 runs, backed up by Hayes, who returned figures of two for 35.

Opener Bruce Cruse managed a creditable 29 runs, while John Macauley top scored with an unbeaten 64 and Damion Keegan hit 43 in Radcliffe's reply.

The run chase petered out though as Radcliffe ran out of overs and they finished 40 runs short of the target.
