A BLACKBURN company will mark the receipt of the Queen's Award for Industry by officially opening a new manufacturing plant on Friday.
Promethean, part of the TDS-Promethean Group, will receive the award from the Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, Lord Shuttleworth, at the new ACTIVhouse premises in Philips Road. Lord Shuttleworth will also perform the opening ceremony.
Stephen Jury, group chief executive, said the award was a tremendous boost for Promethean.
ACTIVhouse is a 20,000 sq ft manufacturing plant built as a result of the group's growing sales of interactive white boards.
The additional facilities and space mean they will be able to expand manufacturing capacity to 30,000 units, worth £30 million per annum.
