A PSYCHIC with 15 years experience of foretelling the future is set for TV fame after being picked out to star in a new show.
Mum-of-two Linda Preston, 46, of Sunnyhurst Lane, Darwen, has been reading Tarot cards since her late teens and turned professional aged 31, but she never predicted the extent of her own success.
Now her gift has impressed bosses at Channel 4 in trial readings and she has been invited to take part in a new series about psychics which could start filming in August.
Linda, who has performed Tarot readings for celebrities, including local footballers and a drama coach from Four Weddings and a Funeral, says she is confident her powers can wow a TV audience of millions.
She said: " "No-one can claim to be 100 per cent accurate but I usually tell people that about 80 per cent of what I say will make sense.
"I prefer to read for complete strangers and I like to know as little as possible about the person then I can do an unbiased reading.
"Sometimes if I have something big coming up I'll try to read the cards for myself but I know too much about the circumstances. But I have always felt thing will happen for me one day and now things seem to be gathering pace."
Linda usually sees two or three clients a day at her home, most of whom are women. Many of them go to her with problems and some return regularly for advice to keep their lives on track.
As a trained counsellor and ex-Samaritan, she is ideally placed to help people looking for something to cheer them up.
She said: "I think I go on to a different level of consciousness when I'm doing a reading and I pick up on things about the person and their life.
"A lot of the time when people come to see me they have a problem. I try never to give a bad reading and always to look at how the person can move forwards. I won't let someone go away feeling worse than when they arrived."
A spokeswoman for Channel 4 said: "At the moment I can tell you we have something scheduled for the week beginning August 9 called Psychic Night, but we don't confirm things this far in advance."
