EMMERDALE star Sammy Winward returned to her former school as guest of honour.
Sammy, 17, girlfriend of Blackburn Rovers star David Dunn, who has been linked in a £5million transfer deal to Birmingham, was swamped by fans when she opened Turton and Edgworth Primary School's 30th anniversary summer fair.
Sammy, who plays wayward schoolgirl Katie Addyman in the Yorkshire soap, said: "When I was asked to do this I jumped at it, I'm so excited to come back. It's very weird, everything seems so small."
During the seven years Sammy spent at Edgworth she was on the rounders team, football team, and netball team, she also played the flute and recorder and was in the senior orchestra. She said: "I remember the cross country days, I always used to lose my pump at the last minute and in football I always fell at the goal."
