I APOLOGISE to the residents of the Edisford, Henthorn and Low Moor areas of Clitheroe, and indeed to anyone who found themselves caught up in the traffic chaos at Roefield over the weekend of June 21 and 22.
Clitheroe Wolves held a football tournament over the two days and had made arrangements which should have ensured that there were no problems.
Car parking and traffic arrangements were taken out of our hands as early as last October, but volumes were greatly underestimated.
Please be assured that steps will be taken to try to ensure that problems of this scale do not occur again.
I would like to make it clear that, contrary to speculation, Clitheroe Wolves did not take a share of the revenue that the car park charges raised and all our committee members who were present also paid the £2.60 rate for over five hours.
ANNE BARKER, Secretary, Clitheroe Wolves.
