A FATHER and son from Radcliffe are improving in hospital after they were seriously injured when two motorbikes collided head on in Abbey Village near Chorley.
Neil Chadwick, aged 44, suffered multiple leg breaks and a hand injury, while pillion passenger 12-year-old Daniel broke his leg.
They were travelling on a Suzuki along A675 Bolton Road in Abbey Village on Saturday when they collided with a Kawasaki being driven by Stephen Barber, aged 20, of Tyldesley.
He suffered a fractured leg and crush injuries.
Mr Chadwick and his son were taken to the Royal Preston Hospital where their conditions are said to be stable.
Police say Mr Barber overtook a Subaru Impreza on a hill before colliding with Mr Chadwick's bike and a Yamaha travelling in the opposite direction.
The Yamaha rider Christopher Ogden, aged 20, of Walkden, escaped with minor injuries.
