A WOMAN confronted her husband over an alleged affair before begging police not to arrest her for a breach of the peace, a court was told.

Blackburn magistrates heard that Alicia Bolt, 40, had only been married for 10 months when she discovered her husband's infidelity and there had been a massive row.

Bolt, of Hawthorne Gardens, Altham, admitted a breach of the peace and was bound over in £50 to keep the peace for six months.

Richard Mitcalf, prosecuting, said Mrs Bolt was found drunk at the side of the road by a "Good Samaritan" who took her home.

"The altercation she had with her husband continued with a degree of pushing and shoving and the police were called," said Mr Mitcalf.

Graham Parkinson, defending, said that after Bolt had discovered her husband had been unfaithful they had rowed and she had drunk a bottle of wine.

"She left home, despite recently having an operation, which meant she was unable to wear a shoe," said Mr Parkinson.

"She says she got down on her knees and begged the police not to arrest her.

"She doesn't know the state of her marriage, that is something she will have to work out."
