ACCRINGTON Stanley will kick off their Conference campaign live on Sky TV.
The satellite channel has selected the Reds' opening day trip to Aldershot for live viewing at 5pm on Sunday, August 10.
It will be the first time in their proud history that Stanley - a founder member of the Football League - have been featured in a live match.
And Chairman Eric Whalley revealed his delight at the move, which will also net the Reds' at least £2,000 in TV money.
Whalley beamed: "It's very exciting for the club and a fantastic way to start the season.
"Unfortunately, the game has been switched from 3pm on a Saturday to a Sunday evening, meaning we have an extra day to wait to get the season underway.
"But with Aldershot being a fair old drive for the supporters, it's a good game to have.
"The Premiership doesn't start until the following week, so hopefully we will get a good showing."
Stanley's worldwide appeal, allied with the fact they are visiting another fallen Football League club, is sure to provide a nostalgia-filled evening for armchair viewers.
And Whalley is hoping the Reds' can put on a show in their curtain-raiser to tempt the TV giant into a trip to the Crown Ground later this season.
He added: "I'm a little disappointed we are not the home team live, but with Sky doubling the number of Conference games they show this season from six to 12, there's time yet."
Meanwhile, former Reds' midfielder Mike Marsh was yesterday unveiled as the new manager of Unibond Premier League side Burscough.
Marsh had joined Nuneaton as assistant manager only last month, but has now been installed as Burscough boss following the shock sacking of Shaun Teale.
Marsh said: "It was a chance I wanted to take and at 34 the time is right for me to enter management.
"Hopefully everyone at Nuneaton can understand why I have taken this decision and from now on the future for me is in management."
