WITH the grand opening of the Barbara Castle Way extension in Blackburn we are now able to make the usual observations.
Why, for instance, has no provision been made to get out of Johnston Street on to the new road?
And why, when they 'planned' the road, did they not foresee problems of the two lanes suddenly going into one?
Has the council got some hidden hatred of smooth-flowing traffic?
King Street has now been reduced to one lane, which will result in queues stretching to Witton at busy times.
Why are they so hell-bent on creating problems where none existed before?
