IF you are involved in a sports club or organisation, and want a say in the future of sport in Radcliffe, make sure you attend a sports strategy meeting on July 10.

Radcliffe Area Board has committed itself to producing a document that considers the provision of sport in the town over the next 15 to 20 years. It also wants to look at short-term needs.

To achieve this, it will seek opinions on the issues facing clubs and sport locally and will also consider the wider impact of sport across health, regeneration, social inclusion and providing opportunities and activities for young people.

Dozens of people with an interest in the development of sport in the town have already been invited to the meeting but it is a public forum and anyone with a view is entitled to attend.

Councillor Barry Briggs, chairman of Radcliffe Area Board, said: "Sport is important to the people of Radcliffe and this is a chance to have an input into its future development. Anyone who is interested at any level of sport should attend this meeting, whether they are running a children's football team or are thinking of setting up a new organisation in the area. Expert advice will be on hand."

The meeting will be held at Radcliffe Civic Suite and will begin at 7pm. For details, contact Sofina Duloth Joy on 253 7455.
