NOSTALGIA will be rife in Heysham this weekend as the community turns the clock back to the 1940s.

The festivities, which promise to offer something for all the family, will take place at various venues in the village and run from 11.30am until 4.30pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Among the highlights will be the John Griffiths 16-piece Big Band and Quartet, playing favourites from the likes of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey and more.

Music will also be provided by the Lune Valley Jazz Band, Michael Brooks Sings Sinatra & Friends as well as the Fantastic Blues Brothers.

A showcase of memorabilia will be on display, while there will also be charity and craft stalls, tea gardens, a Rose Queen processions and live entertainment at the Royal Hotel.

Special entertainment for children is also being laid on, along with a display by the Lisa Salem Dancers.

And to make life easier for visitors, park and ride facilities will run from Half Moon Bay
