SPORTING activities for children of all ages are promised by Lancaster city council this summer.
Archery, fencing, golf, basketball, tenpin bowling, trampolining and snorkelling are all part of the mix at fun sessions being organised by the council's leisure services division.
There are also specialist coaching camps in sports as diverse as mountain biking, athletics, golf, swimming and outdoor pursuits.
And to top it off are Under 12 and Under 14 football competitions being organised for late August as part of a special sports fun day at Salt Ayre Sports Centre.
The programme is bigger and better than ever before, with more than 120 activities on offer in a bid to meet the increasing demand for places, according to Cllr Ron Sands, the council's Cabinet member with responsibility for leisure.
Early booking is advised for many activities, he adds.
Full summer fun programmes are available now at Salt Ayre Sports Centre, Heysham pool, Carnforth pool, Hornby pool, Morecambe Town Hall, Lancaster Town Hall, the council housing office at Ryelands House or Morecambe and Lancaster tourist information centres.
Or call the spcial information line at Morecambe Town Hall on 01524-582834.
