AN early hours rumpus in the garden led to a man being arrested and spending the night in the cells.
Burnley Magistrates heard how Lee O'Neill, 27, was shouting and swearing at the police.
O'Neill, of Cedar Close, Barnoldswick, admitted threatening, abusive or insulting words and behaviour on June 29. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge.
John Rusius, defending, said O'Neill's conviction would cause him hardship in the future and was a source of considerable embarrassment to his family.
He had been drinking, had one too many and couldn't remember much about what happened.
A neighbour had been shouting and swearing at him so he simply responded.
O'Neill very much regretted what happened and wanted to apologise. He would not be appearing in court again.
