TOP striker Wayne Curtis has finally signed on the dotted line for Shrimps...
The 23-year-old, pictured, who was Morecambe's top goal-scorer last season and fourth in the Conference goal charts, had been attracting interest from a host of other clubs.
Burton Albion's Nigel Clough was keen to sign ambitious Curtis, with Dagenham & Redbridge, Chester City and Hereford United also in competition for his signature.
But as players returned to Christie Park to begin pre-season training this week, Curtis ended speculation by putting pen to paper.
He has signed a new deal which will see him remain at Christie Park for the next two years.
He says: "I am delighted to sign this deal with Morecambe, my future is with this club. My game has developed enormously over the past six years under Jim Harvey and I am sure there is still room for improvement.
"We have a young squad which is capable of going one better than the runner's-up place we achieved last season."
Manager Jim Harvey says: " I was always confident a deal would be struck and am very pleased that Wayne has agreed terms. He has massive potential that he is starting to fulfil and could prove to be a powerful force over the next two seasons.
"I feel from the point of view of Wayne's career prospects, he has made the correct decision."
