LEIGH RMI youth team completed a unique double by winning the NW Youth Alliance league and cup.
They achieved this in some style by beating Altrincham in the final by 3-1 with goals from Valentine, Settle and Charlton. In the same week they got the draw they needed to win the championship.
RMI have become the first side to complete the double and did it in style with a run of 20 consecutive wins.
The side contains six county players with Sharratt, McMullen and Valentine representing Lancashire; Sharpe and Fillingham for Greater Manchester and 16-years=old Sidle for Manchester County Schools.
Several players won individual awards. Skipper Andy Settle was voted the best player in the league and Tom Valentine was top scorer with 41. To round off a clean sweep of awards, manager Stan Walker won the manager of the year at the league's annual dinner at Hilton Park.
