COUNCILLORS have offered a charitable trust the chance to lease their own AB and D Centre at a nominal rent.
The centre has been disposed from the council to the AB and D Trust, which has been running the centre since Rossendale Council announced last August that the leisure facility was one of five set to close following a disastrous audit report.
In October, the users of the centre agreed to make a financial contribution towards running costs.
The centre has been valued at £9,000 per annum.
Coun Jimmy Eaton said: "The people who have kept it going should be commended for their work because it's the involvement of the people that has made it work."
