A NEW art gallery and workshop opened this week at Mornington High in Hindley with Year 8 pupils' work and adult night class exhibits on show.
The £50,000 project -- housed in the former caretaker's bungalow --was described by the headteacher as a 'fantastic resource for the whole community'.
Mornington High is a Visual Arts Specialist College and no stranger to excellence in the arts. A new Art ICT suite and specialist 3D/ceramics facilities are also part of the school's 'new image' as is the new textiles room that opens in September.
Opener Cllr Stuart Shaw said: "This exciting and innovative project will provide a showcase for pupils and the community to display their creative talents. There are some very talented people in Hindley and I expect the new gallery will be very well used."
