A BUDDING Fylde actress is waiting to hear if she'll get a scholarship to make her drama school dreams come true.

Freckleton teen Olivia Brown has been offered a place at the prestigious Lamda drama school in London.

But without a scholarship the 17-year-old faces crippling fees of £11,000 each year -- and that's not counting accommodation and living expenses.

"It would be a shame to throw it all away because I didn't have the money to go," she said.

She'll hear whether or not she's got the scholarship on August 17. But she's not wasting time. She has waited on tables for the last couple of summers and babysat to save up money. "I don't mind working hard for it. I'm even up for doing the odd sponsored swim or walk too!" she joked.

Olivia's keen to take up her place -- she was one of only 15 girls offered a place this year at Lamda (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art), despite never having formal acting lessons.

"I have always enjoyed performing and being creative, I've studied drama at school, I play the piano, sing and write my own stuff.

"But I haven't had acting lessons because I think they don't work. You can either act or you can't."

She'll find out on August 17 if she's been awarded a coveted Lamda scholarship.

"I've thought I must be okay to get this far. I don't want to be famous. I just want to be working. It's just the total adrenaline rush. I can't wait to get to London if I can," she said.
